Contents

If you've been buzzing with curiosity about how this year's Monograph Project Management Awards winners were chosen, you're in the right spot. Let's peel back the curtain on the selection process and dive into the nitty-gritty of what makes a winner.

The Purpose of 2024 Best of Project Management Awards

At Monograph, we're all about celebrating the brilliant minds and innovative projects within the architectural community. These awards aren't just shiny badges (though they look pretty cool, if we do say so ourselves); they're a nod to the hard work, savvy strategy, and dedication firms put into their projects every day.

The 2024 Best of Project Management Awards give a well-deserved pat on the back to architecture firms that not only excel in project management but also run effective business operations that enable them to deliver the best architecture to their clients.

Eligibility Criteria

To keep things fair and focused, we set some basic ground rules. In order to be eligible for the 2024 Best of Project Management Awards, your firm must:

  1. Be a Monograph customer.
  2. Have been using Monograph for at least 12 months. (as of March 2024)
  3. Use Monograph to generate and send invoices.

This simple criteria ensures that your firm’s performance can be appropriately measured against others and you’re truly integrating Monograph into day-to-day operations.

Selection Criteria

Our selection framework was anchored in the five critical performance metrics reviewed in our 2024 Architecture Business Benchmarks Report:

  • Net Revenue per Full-time Equivalent (Net Rev/FTE)
  • Net Cost per Full-time Equivalent (Net Cost/FTE)
  • Utilization Rate
  • Realization Rate
  • Time to Payment

Firms received a weighted score from 0 to 2 for each metric based on their performance relative to the averages and top-performing figures.

With five metrics in play, the maximum score a firm could rack up was 10 points.

How We Tallied the Scores

Each firm's journey to victory started with a deep dive into their performance. We totalled up the scores based on the criteria above, and divided the winners into three categories:

  • Certified: Firms that have successfully used Monograph for at least 12 months to improve their project management and performance.
  • High-performer: Firms with a total score between the 50-75th percentile, indicating above average performance across project management and business operations.
  • Champion: Firms with a total score in the top 25%, indicating the highest performance across project management and business operations.

What Winning Means

It’s worth noting that, according to our 2024 Architecture Business Benchmarks Report, firms using Monograph are already performing better than many industry averages. Therefore, all award recipients are truly the best of the best.

Bagging a Monograph Project Management Award isn't just about bragging rights (though feel free to brag away). It's a sign to your clients, employees, and the industry that your firm is leading the way forward – setting standards, exceeding expectations, and exemplifying how effective project management and business operations lead to better architecture.
