When Moe, Alex, and myself set out to help our friends and former colleagues at architecture firms by building a product that could improve their day to day workflows, we were guided by a set of shared values. Our value of “being human” has always been core to the company. We bring that to everything we do. 

From the team members that join us, to how our team engages with each other, to the conversations we host for our community, and how we treat our partners and customers -- we are committed to setting an example for the industry.

New Partners

Which is why today, we’re very excited to announce a new partner that believes in the same values we do. We have closed a $7.4 million Series A round of funding led by Index Ventures with continued participation from existing believers in our mission: Homebrew, Parade Ventures, Designer Fund, and several angel investors. Nina Achadijan, partner at Index Ventures, will be joining our board. We’re excited to have her on our team as we continue to build the most robust industry-specific platform that empowers AEC professionals to better serve their clients, design great built environments, as well as operate a more collaborative, transparent, and profitable business.

We founded Monograph to help the industry overcome challenges pervasive across not only small and medium sized firms, but large enterprise organizations as well. That is why we set out to build a product that was intuitively designed for architecture, design, engineering, and construction professionals to oversee projects, timesheets, and forecasts in one simple and integrated interface. We’re happy to report that we’re delivering on that promise as our platform has helped manage over $335 million in projects of all scales. 

Fueling the future of Practice Operations

Design professionals are underserved by existing technology solutions. The architecture industry is broken and Monograph is strategically positioned to help fix it. We’re disrupting the status quo by ridding firms of ineffective spreadsheets and tools that treat cost, resource, and project management as siloed activities. Our platform is a modern-day solution that syncs a firm’s range of projects and responsibilities holistically so that AEC professionals can provide a great client experience, and most importantly make a profit.

“Monograph has helped us get a clearer picture of how our firm’s projects are performing and where our team is allocated,” says Kris Bradner, principal at Traverse Landscape Architects. “The team forecasting feature has helped us make staffing decisions, while the overview page for each project gives us a good snapshot as we pursue prospective projects.” 

We are grateful to our early customers for supporting and inspiring us to build Monograph, and to our team, who have worked hard to get us to this point.

This financing is also a result of the large strides we’ve made this past year, including the launch of several new workflows, a rapidly growing roster of customers, and overall market momentum even through uncertain times. Many of our customers grew due to new opportunities and our product was there to help them manage that.

“The time it would take us to staff our projects was cut in half, if not more, by Monograph––increasing our productivity by 200 percent”, says Thomas B. Merritt, director of design at Verdant Studio. “The Resource feature alone has allowed us to schedule all projects and staff on Fridays. Everyone knows the projects they’ll be working on for the week through a couple of one-hour meetings. Before, we’d spend four to eight hours over the weekend comparing the previous week’s calendars, emails, and timesheets. We can now ensure a greater work-life balance through Monograph.”

New Domain, who dis?  

We’re also incredibly excited today to introduce a new official web address, Monograph.com. It’s a symbolic commitment to our community of team members, partners, and the industry that we’re the educational reference for design professionals who seek to grow and the platform of choice to accomplish more as a business.

We’re excited to have additional resources to grow our teams to deliver world-class value to an industry that designs the world around us. It’s important to us to build a culture that is diverse, with a focus on people.
